Part pub, part formal dining room, and serving dinner, late-night eats and weekend brunch, Banks Channel Pub and Grille, on Causeway Drive in Wrightsville Beach, has something for everyone. Televisions, a friendly bar, traditional pub tables and two pool tables fill the pub and grill in front. Linen-draped tables appoint the separate, more formal dining room.
Dishes span casual to upscale, too. Brunch means eggs any way or bacon-wrapped filet with two eggs and fried green tomatoes. Dress down with half-pound burgers, a seafood steamed platter, Caribbean jerk wings, a Philly cheesesteak pizza or signature sandwiches. One of their most popular burgers, Black Beard’s Revenge, has fresh grilled pineapple, mozzarella, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and red onion with a honey-wasabi mustard. Don’t miss their special sides that include homemade red potato chips, sweet potato fries or jicama, carrot and pineapple slaw.
Blue jeans are just as welcome when you’re craving something fancier, say creamy shrimp and scallop fra diavolo with red peppers, garlic, cilantro and parmesan cheese in creamy tomato sauce. Fried or seared crab cakes come with creamy spinach red pepper orzo. That bacon-wrapped filet is served for dinner, too. Get a surf-and-turf version with shrimp, snow crab legs or a crab cake.
Banks Channel Pub and Grille offers daily food and drink specials. Each day brings a different discount for pitchers or buckets of beer as well as specials on individual labels and assorted cocktails. And Banks Channel has a large assortment of craft beers as well as popular domestic beers including PBR and Bud in all its forms.
The restaurant is open 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The kitchen offers after-hours eats until 1:00 a.m. Banks Channel offers buffet or tableside banquet service, as well, accommodating special occasions and business events.
