Elderhaus at the Lake: Adult Day Program

Elderhuas Adult Day Care

Adult Day Program at Elderhuas at the Lake

For many seniors and adults with special needs, questions might arise surrounding their continued care and well being. Can I get the supervision and socialization I need? How will I manage my health? Will my caregivers have time for themselves?

Elderhaus at the Lake provides the solution to these concerns through their community oriented adult day care services. Serving New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick counties, the Adult Day Health Center in Wilmington gives participants a safe, healthy environment to be with their peers and receive basic care.

All participants can receive transportation to and from the center, snacks and lunches according to their dietary needs, quality care from in-house nurses, and access to exercise and educational programs.

Seniors looking to stay active in their community have many opportunities for socialization through the activities offered at Elderhaus at the Lake. The center organizes fields trips, walking and discussion groups, and lunch outings as well as religious and musical programs, arts and crafts, bingo and small group activities.

Whether they’re on the patio overlooking Greenfield Lake or reclining in one of the two TV rooms, participants can relax knowing they will be cared for by the committed staff and volunteers throughout the day. This also lifts the burden from caregivers, allowing them to work and enrich their personal lives while their loved ones are given the best care.

All of the amenities and activities at Elderhaus at the Lake are available to participants through their two unique programs:

  • the Adult Day Enrichment Program and the
  • Adult Day Health Program.

Adults 18 years and older who are not in need of nursing supervision and perhaps mainly want to be outside their homes during the day are eligible for the enrichment program.

For physically or mentally challenged, frail, or at-risk participants who need nursing care and supervision to remain independent or who need help recovering from an acute illness, the health program is ideal. These participants are given assistance with personal care and medication, ongoing health monitoring for basic needs, and selected treatments with a physician’s order.

While enabling seniors to remain independently in their community and home settings, the non-profit provides the supervision and therapeutic services necessary for their participants’ optimal level of activity and health.

Above all, Elderhaus is dedicated to keeping seniors and adults happy and healthy by promoting each participant’s well being and best quality and of life.
