Restaurants Near Wrightsville Beach
Several outstanding restaurants are just a stone’s throw from Wrightsville Beach. Jerry’s, located in the last strip mall on Eastwood before you cross the bridge to Wrightsville Beach, features steaks, seafood, and pasta dishes, all cooked to your order. They also have the best rack of lamb you’ll find in Wilmington. The restaurant has a full bar and an extensive wine list ranging in price from moderate to princely, special occasion only (unless you’re very wealthy) bottles. They feature daily specials too that never disappoint.
Dine, Shop At Lumina Station
Two restaurants of very different types are located in Lumina Station on Eastwood Road before you reach the Wrightsville Beach Causeway.
The menu at Braisserie du Soleil features an extensive raw bar and the several types of oysters and clams are displayed as you enter the restaurant. Excellent soups, crepes and sandwiches are available as is a build your own salad option where 30 ingredients are offered. Try the delicious daily specials such as Monday’s parmesan encrusted cod with spinach and pommes frites – you won’t be disappointed. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday and dinner on Sunday.
Port Land Grille, an attractive restaurant with well spaced tables and an inviting ambience, is also located in Lumina Station. You won’t find run of the mill entrees here. Chef owner Shawn Wellersdick might have wood grilled wild striped bass or cajun BBQ rubbed North Carolina catfish over crawfish meat. Antelope tenderloin or Port Land Grille’s meatloaf (made with 100 percent ground Provimi veal!) are also available. Port Land Grille has a full bar and an extensive list of wines not offered elsewhere. Save room for dessert – they are delectable.
Visitors will want to visit Lumina Station for the wonderful shops that are there too. Fountainside Gallery features masterful works by Sandy Nelson, a national award-winning artist whose paintings of the local marshes, fields and ocean views at different times of day are spectacularly beautiful. Works by other talented artists and very fine potters are also on display. Don’t miss the locally owned boutiques at Lumina that feature unique clothing, accessories and jewelry that are not found elsewhere.
