Wrightsville Beach’s New Restaurants

Three new restaurants opened recently on Wrightsville Beach, giving diners an even greater choice and more reasons not to cook, as if reasons are ever required.

One of the newer places to dine on Wrightsville Beach is Banks Channel, a large restaurant located on Causeway Drive. The restaurant has two distinct sections, with a pub and grille in the front complete with televisions, an inviting bar, traditional pub tables and two pool tables, while the second room is a formal dining room complete with linen-draped tables. Everything from really good burgers to pizza to club sandwiches to such dishes as fish & chips, a New York strip, and a farmer’s crepe are offered. Be sure to try the homemade red potato chips and jicama slaw – they are delicious. Banks Channel offers daily specials on adult beverages as well as on food. Each day brings a different discount for pitchers or buckets of beer as well as specials on individual brands of beer and assorted cocktails. They are open for dinner seven nights a week and even serve late night food until 1:30 a.m. They are open for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays too.

Specializing In Seafood

Another new restaurant opened early in 2010. Now known as Wrightsville Beach Seafood and Steaks, the restaurant is open Wednesday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. til 9:30 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual, with fresh cut steaks, local seafood and fresh ground burgers on the menu, all at reasonable prices. The restaurant is located on Causeway Drive, just down the street from the Post Office. At lunch, choose from a large selection of sandwiches and salads. The restaurant prides itself on offering a kids menu, moderate prices and portions so generous that many seniors have enough left over for lunch the following day. Beer and wine are available too.

Fabulous Take Out Offered

When you want a delicious meal but don’t feel like cooking or going out, make your way to To Go, a wonderful take-out restaurant that opened in early 2010 on Causeway Drive. Open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week, breakfast, lunch and dinner are available here. All breakfast sandwiches are served on a croissant, brioche bun or wrap and waffles are offered too. Lunch and dinner choices include a variety of paninis, delicious New York style hero sandwiches, build-your-own sandwiches, a large selection of salads, pasta dishes and such classics as chicken marsala, roasted half chicken, and salmon. You’re even able to buy a single meatball as well as baked ziti, chicken pot pie, veal stew with noodles and eggplant parmesan. Delicious soups are made fresh daily and all of the entrees come with instructions for reheating. This is your no fuss solution for entertaining on the beach.
