Restaurants Near Topsail Island
Just off Topsail Island before you get to the swing bridge leading to Surf City is the Thai Grille, serving food adapted from the recipes of the Alicia Gardner’s mother, who was born in Thailand. Alicia and her husband Ray opened the restaurant in 2007 and are delighted with the response. Try the curry dishes that are featured on the menu. Whether a customer prefers the mild yellow variety, medium red or the spicy green type, curries are among the best dishes the restaurant serves. The restaurant also has dishes for those who prefer such staples as crab cakes or yellowfin tuna.
Thai Grille has a full bar and an interesting assortment of wines, beers and sake. They are open from 11-2 for lunch daily and for dinner from 5 p.m. The restaurant and bar are smoke free.
Restaurant And Tavern
Another restaurant located on the Causeway before the Surf City swing bridge is Quartermasters Restaurant and Tavern. This spacious facility offers smoke free dining in the separate dining room as well as a tavern where smoking is permitted. The full menu is available in the tavern as well.
A very extensive menu is offered in the restaurant. Crab dip, shrimp and crab au gratin, and fresh seafood platters in numerous combinations are available, as is Skully’s Dirty Chicken, a popular dish that moved with the owners from their previous restaurant in Topsail Beach. Prices are moderate, service is efficient and the restaurant has all ABC permits.
The tavern opens daily at 4 p.m. and the restaurant opens daily at 5.
