Wrightsville Beach offers lots of options, depending on what type of food you are interested in eating.
A special experience awaits you at the Oceans, located on the second level of the Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort on North Lumina Avenue. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily throughout the year at the restaurant that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and a beautiful pool and cabana area at the resort. An extensive selection of salads, sandwiches and specialty wraps are offered at lunch. Also offered, for lunch and dinner, are numerous types of pizza and a cheese calzones.
Other dinner entrees feature the abundant fresh seafood in the area, from macadamia encrusted mahi mahi to parmesan scallops to calabash seafood platters. Landlubbers will find plenty of steaks, chicken and pasta dishes on the menu too. Kids meals are available. Oceans has a full bar.
The Oceanic Restaurant is on South Lumina Avenue with three floors of indoor seating as well as outdoor seating on a long pier, weather permitting, all overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner daily, and serves Sunday brunch as well. Steaks, chicken and pasta are available at dinner in addition to several fresh seafood choices. Lunch is comprised of large salads, sandwiches, seafood baskets and seafood platters. The restaurant also has a full bar.
Bluewater sits on the Intracoastal Waterway and overlooks a beautiful marina. The sprawling two-story restaurant, with both indoor and outdoor seating, offers casual American food including baby back ribs and New England Clam Chowder. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner. At lunch, choose from appetizers, a number of filling sandwiches, or special entrees such as the Knife and Fork Chili Burger, a huge burger topped with chili and cheese served on a mound of whipped potatoes. Dinner entrees include daily seafood specials as well as pasta and steaks. A full bar is available and a good selection of beer is offered.
A wonderful spot for people watching is South Beach Grill, located on Lumina Avenue overlooking Banks Channel at the center of Wrightsville Beach. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available and the restaurant has a full bar, a thoughtful wine selection and an interesting assortment of beer. You’ll find consistently tasty food on the extensive menu, with everything from delicious sandwiches and wraps to very fresh salads to seafood entrees of all types offered. Some of the restaurant’s unique dishes are fried pickles done in a secret batter and a seafood nachos platter that is a delicious way to start a meal. For dinner, grouper Linda has been a restaurant specialty for 13 years. Other excellent choices are sweet potato crusted flounder and an eggplant and shrimp stack. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner daily except in winter, when it is closed Monday.
Banks Channel is a large restaurant located on Causeway Drive. The restaurant has two distinct sections, with a pub and grille in the front complete with televisions, an inviting bar, traditional pub tables, foosball and two pool tables, while the second room is a formal dining room complete with linen-draped tables. Everything from really good burgers to pizza to club sandwiches to such dishes as fish & chips, a New York strip, and a farmer’s crepe are offered. Be sure to try the homemade red potato chips and jicama slaw – they are delicious. Banks Channel offers daily specials on adult beverages as well as on food. Each day brings a different discount for pitchers or buckets of beer as well as specials on individual brands of beer and assorted cocktails. Banks Channel is open for dinner seven nights a week and even serves late night food until 1:30 a.m. They are open for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays too.
