Extensive Menu Choices

Banks Channel is a large restaurant located on Causeway Drive in Wrightsville Beach. The restaurant has two distinct sections, with a pub and grille in the front complete with televisions, an inviting bar, traditional pub tables and two pool tables, while the second room is a formal dining room with linen-draped tables. Everything from really good burgers to pizza to club sandwiches to fish and chips is available on the extensive menu. We can nearly guarantee that the quality and preparation of the food will be a delightful surprise for those who haven’t tried it. Two items not to miss are homemade red potato chips and jicama slaw – they are delicious. And if you are a seared tuna fan, have it as an appetizer that is served with a delicious seaweed salad.

Popular choices are New York strip steaks and a farmer’s crepe. Food specials are always a good bet and there are daily discount specials on adult beverages as well as on food. Each day brings a different discount for pitchers or buckets of beer as well as specials on individual brands of beer and assorted cocktails. Banks Channel is open for dinner seven nights a week and even serves late night food until 1:30 a.m. They are open for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Musicians perform there frequently.

In the Heritage Square shopping plaza on the approach to the swing bridge to Surf City on Topsail Island is Quartermasters Restaurant & Tavern. The extensive menu at Quartermasters includes items such as crab dip appetizers, seafood platters of all types and combinations, and Skully’s Dirty Chicken, a popular dish they developed in their former restaurant in Topsail Beach.

The restaurant has special deals on food and drink and has large television screens in the bar offering complete sports packages. If you love homemade French Onion soup, have it at Quartermasters. It is absolutely delicious – the best we’ve had in the area. The tavern opens daily at 4 while the dining room opens at 5.

A restaurant at Topsail Beach on the south side of the island is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. The restaurant closes after their luncheon service on January 1 and reopens in March each year.
