When visiting Wilmington, NC restaurants, be sure to include Deluxe, one of the older restaurants in downtown, located on Market Street between Front and Second. Deluxe opens daily for dinner at 5 p.m., with a menu extensive enough for any craving. Whether you want seafood, pasta, steaks, pork, inventive vegetarian dishes or anything else you have a craving for, you’ll find it at Deluxe. The menu at Deluxe is undergoing revisions to focus on fresh food prepared to offer strong visual as well as taste, texture and aroma appeal. Early tastings are drawing rave reviews. Deluxe has a very extensive selection of fine wines that has resulted in Wine Spectator award of excellence recognition for nine years in a row. Deluxe has a full bar and serves a wonderful Sunday brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Just before you cross the causeway to Wrightsville Beach you’ll see Jerry’s restaurant on the right in one of Wilmington’s ubiquitous small shopping plazas. To get there, turn right at the light at Wrightsville Avenue and Eastwood Road, then left to get into the strip mall. Jerry’s, a favorite among locals for very good reason, has steaks, pasta dishes, an extensive seafood menu and very crisp salads. In response to requests by their regular clients, the restaurant offers half-size entrees for those with a smaller appetite. The staff is professional and attentive, the daily specials are always delicious, and desserts are sinfully good. With a full bar and an extensive wine list, Jerry’s is open daily at 6 p.m. Jerry’s also caters events throughout the Wilmington area.
