Wilmington Airport Grows
ILM Sets Record
The expansion of Wilmington Airport, known as ILM, has made it much easier for visitors to reach Wilmington. Coupled with the hospitality we extend to our visitors, the festivals have seen staggering growth since they began. With non-stop flights to and from four major cities each day, those traveling to or from New York’s Laguardia, Philadelphia, Charlotte or Atlanta can do so easily. Connections to other cities from these hubs are relatively painless.
The airport served a record 801,187 passengers in 2007, an increase of 25 percent over 2006. Those numbers are sure to increase in 2008, as new non-stop flights to Orlando and Cincinnati have been added.
