Wilmington Airport Grows

Wilmington Airport

One of the things that has helped entice visitors to Wilmington is the expansion of Wilmington Airport, known as ILM.

The hospitality we extend to visitors begins at the airport, where volunteers are on hand to greet and help those who are arriving from other cities.

There are non-stop flights to and from five major cities so that those traveling to or from New York City’s Laguardia, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Orlando/Sanford or Atlanta can do so easily.

US Air has a host of connecting flights through Charlotte and Delta has a lot of connecting flights through Atlanta so that getting to other cities from these hubs is relatively painless too.

International travelers use the Wilmington Airport too, as the facility has earned a reputation as an efficient place to clear customs. No long lines and endless waits are present at ILM.

The Wilmington airport served 807,126 passengers in 2009; that number is sure to grow as economic conditions continue to improve.
