Cucalorus Film Festival
The Cucalorus Film Festival will present its 16th annual festival of independent films in November 10-14, 2010. This four-day, non-competitive event showcases nearly 200 independently produced films from all over the world and has been cited by the Southeastern Tourism Society as a Top 20 Event.
The Cucalorus Festival continues to grow, reflecting the ever-increasing interest in non-traditional films. Workshops and panel discussions are available for aspiring filmmakers and others interested in the film industry.
The Festival is important for the city of Wilmington too with visitors coming from all across the country. Venues throughout the city are busy with showings staged from Historic Downtown Wilmington to the Lumina Theatre. Home base for the Festival is Jengo’s Playhouse.
The Brooks Institute has named Cucalorus as won of the 10 ten film festivals in the U.S.
