Reasons To Celebrate

One need not wonder why the Cape Fear area hosts more than its share of weddings each year, as people are drawn here to celebrate that special day. They choose this area because there are so many wonderful options and at prices that are affordable too.

An astounding number of options exist. There are castles, spectacularly beautiful beaches, lovely historic churches, a castle fit for a king and queen, a beautiful historic theater and even a battleship.

A beautiful place for a wedding reception is the Cape Fear River Deck, located in Chandler’s Wharf overlooking the Cape Fear River. You can be married there or travel from one of the gorgeous churches downtown. All the arrangements for food, drink and flowers can be made for you so that your only job will be to enjoy your day. If you’re coming from a local church, why not arrive in style in the Wilmington Trolley? They would be happy to transport you and your guests.

There are castles, spectacularly beautiful beaches, lovely historic churches, decks located right on the Cape Fear River, a castle fit for a king and queen, a beautiful historic theater and even a battleship. If a smaller, less grand venue is more suited, private rooms in restaurants and historic homes are available too.

If you’re yearning to host a sensational party for any reason, whether it’s to celebrate a graduation, have a family reunion, put on a rollicking holiday bash or hold an ice cream social, this area is a wonderful location to do it. We’ve got so many places and so much variety to choose from that you’ll have lots of fun contemplating your options.

Our restaurants and hotels, especially those with water views, are extremely popular for catered events, especially things like anniversaries and birthdays. They’re great for business and organizational meetings, too. Outdoor venues such as some of our beautiful wooded parks are wonderful for picnics, weddings, children’s parties and church activities.

For the boating crowd, onboard parties tend to be informal and of the “drop-in” variety while club social activities can be more sophisticated and better organized. We have a number of sailing and boating groups in the Cape Fear area which accept members. Several marinas have suitable party facilities.
