Cape Fear Museum
At Eighth and Market Streets, be sure to visit the wonderful Cape Fear Museum of History and Science. Founded in 1898 by the Daughters of the Confederacy, the museum collects, preserves, interprets and exhibits objects related to the history, science and cultures of the Lower Cape Fear.
“Waves and Currents: The Lower Cape Fear Story” features an overview of the region’s history and science from pre-history through the 20th century. There is much that both residents and visitors will learn concerning the history of the Wilmington area by spending time at this Museum. Don’t miss the model of Wilmington’s 1863 waterfront. |
