This is Wilmington Today
Welcome to our world.
On this website and in the hard cover guidebook Wilmington Today, you’ll find chapters that should make your visit to this area special. For new residents, we’ve tried to supply information that you’ll need to smooth your transition from your former home. And for those of us lucky enough to live here, we’ve provided information on the best services available. Best for us does not mean most expensive; many of the companies we list offer their services at very moderate prices.
Click on the links to the left and you’ll be taken to pages that will give the information you need to explore and enjoy this special part of the country.
There is much to love about this area. Wilmington is large enough to offer tremendous diversity in restaurants, housing, theater, music, shopping and sports, yet small enough to traverse with ease. The weather changes enough so that we experience four seasons, but winters are benign enough to be outdoors frequently, even in February.
The people who live here, whether native Wilmingtonians or new residents, are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Local taxes are low and housing is relatively affordable when compared with many other parts of the country. And that so much of historical significance and natural, disparate beauty surrounds us, from the beaches to the maritime forests to the woodlands, marshes, tidal creeks, lakes, ponds and rivers, is almost without parallel.
